Key Teams: Oak Park-River Forest, Carpentersville [Dundee-Crown], Mt. Prospect [Prospect], Batavia, Hoffman Estates, Frankfort [Lincoln-Way East], Barrington, Lincolnshire [Stevenson], Park Ridge [ Maine South], Chicago Lane Tech], Downers Grove South, Minooka, Chicago [Brother Rice], Oswego, DeKalb, Homewood-Flossmoor, Tinley Park [Andrew]

Breakdown: The so-called "B" team relay as many pundits have referred over the years. However, this race has actually been pretty competitive in the last few years.

If experience matters, watch squads such as Oak Park and Dundee Crown. Both return the major of their stock from all-state appearances that clocked 1:27.30 and 1:27.76 respectively.

Prospect returns three members from their all-state season and should be a threat. Senior ace John Moellenkamp made a name for himself individual last year. He will continue to make dividends for the Knights this season.

Even non-finalist could shake things up, not making the podium is a big motivation factor for units with multiple returners. We may not see a sub 1:27, but we may see some great races throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons.
