Breakdown: Six All-State long jumpers return led by returning Bronze medalist Logan Rubin, who got hot in the state series. Moving to the top of the podium will not be easy for any returning medalist, state qualifier, or a newcomer to this horizontal jump party.
One of the more unpredictable events on the docket, this event could be deemed wide open. Only David Emuze has a jump over 23ft on his resume and the Fighting Illini recruit has been putting in work this fall and winter to stay in the mix for an individual title.
Aidan Terry and Jayden McCulskie-Green will quietly put up marks at this season with hopes of sending a message to those in the 2A field. Like last season this event could be a race to 23'0 on the blue runways of O'Brien Stadium.
