Class A Boys Sprints Pre-Season Preview

200m-
2019 State Champion: Cody Klein (Pana) 21.57
Key Athletes: Aidan Laughery (So., Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley), Makail Stanley (Sr., Argenta-Oreana), Connor McBride (Sr., Sterling [Newman Catholic]), Neil Campbell (Sr., Chicago Hope Academy), Tobias Sample (Sr., Chicago [Leo]), Keegan Anderson (Sr., Morrison), Marshall Walk (Sr., Spring Valley Hall), Jack Bircher (Jr., Metro-East Lutheran), Chandler Ellis (Sr., Winnebago), Nolan Lentz (Sr., Dakota), Aiden Jany (So., Chester), Ethan Zettler (Sr., DuQuoin), Cole Rushing (Jr., Goreville), Levi Hecox (Sr., Central Camp Point), Kreeden Allen (Jr., Rushville-Industry)
Outlook: While on paper this event doesn't look to be as good as it has been in years past, it just means that these athletes have more to prove which can lead to some times that no one expected to see. Aidan Laughery will lead the charge into the year being the most dominant 200m returner. He has both the top wind-legal time in the classification with a 22.18 as well as the top returner from the state meet last year.

The reigning Top Times 200m Champion is looking to do some big things this year, but will not have it easy as Makail Stanley is right on his tail. Stanley owns a wind-legal PR of 22.20 from his 5th place state performance.

After that is really a toss-up with returning all-stater Connor McBride and Neil Campbell being almost .4 of a second back from the duo. Can they close the gap this year or could someone not even mentioned turn some heads?
