On June 18, 2019, the Illinois High School Athletic Association (IHSA) released new classification assignments for the 2019-2020 that will have an effect on the track and field season.
Each member school submitted their enrollment numbers to the IHSA back in October and classifications were then made "based solely on student enrollment, then geography," according to the IHSA.
