2019 Class 3A Boys Pre-Season Relays Preview

It was Marcellus Moore once again thrilling the crowd with one of his impressive baton carries

4x200m-

2018 State Champion: Plainfield North (Brendan Hanneman, Brian Registe, Marcellus Moore, Joe Stiffend) 1:26.17

Key Teams: Lincolnshire (Stevenson), Huntley, Lockport, Hillside (Proviso West), Homewood-Flossmoor, Collinsville, Normal Community West, Alton, Plainfield North

Breakdown: Plainfield North provided a smackdown to Hoffman Estates at the right time on the strength of superstar Marcellus Moore's sizzling carry at the state meet. Whenever you have a great asset like "Baby Holyfield" anything's possible. But this team will run a solid effort at some point during the season when it's stacked. Why not full time? There are some rumblings around town that Moore will run the 400 in anticipation for a run at the triple crown. Stay tuned!

Homewood-Flossmoor will be very good with the talent and depth they return. The Vikings will need to add  Adeyiga to the mix for added value. Whether they load for the state series or not, the Vikings are going to threaten their school record of 1:27.19.

Stevenson is known more for their distance prowess. In 2018 the only relay noise made it was this one. The Patriots roll through the state series and made the final, placing 7th. Three of those legs return. Lockport is back with three legs and the Porters will be making a big statement this spring.
