Class 2A Girls Relays Preview: New Faces Are Ready To Shine

4x800-
2018 State Champion: Dunlap 9:25.29
Key teams: Eureka, Lasalle-Peru, Rock Falls, Urbana, Oak Park (Fenwick), Dixon, Normal University, Burlington Central, E. St. Louis Sr.
Season outlook analysis: The fans have grown accustomed to Dunlap as the team to watch ever since Belvidere North moved up to 3A. Guess what? Dunlap will be in 3A this season. Last year's state runner-up Eureka may be the team to watch in prime time if the Hornets decide to feature 1A cross country champ senior Emma Argo again. Argo may opt for the 3200m after improving to elite status on the distance side of things. The Hornets like success and they are in a win-win position no matter what way they turn.

Lasalle-Peru will have to get along without graduated star Rachel Hickey who is now at Illinois State University. The Lady Cavaliers return three legs from a third-place state championship finish.

Rock Falls return all four legs from their all-state run. The Rockets surely will topple their 9:38 season best from a year ago. Junior Bailee Fortney is back to lead her team. A crowded field with the likes of Urbana, Dixon, and Fenwick will look to make their way this season.
