Tony's Take: Ode To Enyaeva Michelin's Improved Status

There has to be an athlete of the year, newcomer of the year, and certainly most improved runner of the year. This is not an official endorsement of any sort as to who is an award winner, it's just my own personal tribute.

Evanston senior Enyaeva Michelin has always been solid with the potential to be great. After finishing 7th in last year's 800m final, Michelin immediately went to work during the summer track and won the USATF JO 1500m title for Young Women. The cross country season also played dividends as Michelin placed 2nd to the all-world Katelynne Hart of Glenbard West. In fact, Michelin's only losses as a senior were to Hart. In the span of a season, Michelin has improved her times drastically: 3miles- 16:30; 3200m- 10:16.58; 1600m- 4:48.18; 800m- 2:08.44; 400m- 58.64
