Power Team Rankings by MileSplit Illinois: Week 4

3A Boys:
Breakdown: A new leader is atop the 3A rankings! Neuqua Valley was already number two in the rankings on the strentgh of individual distance and hurdle events. Now add in their performance at DGS Relays, Neuqua Valley showed they may have the pieces across all disciplines on the track. Homewood-Flossmoor drops one spot, but don't be silly and think that the Vikings don't have what it takes to be number one.  New to the top five is Minooka who had some athletes emerge and show team depth by running a state leading 4x400m Relay. Senior Brandon Adams' amazing performance on anchor is sure to inspire the Indians. Some interesting teams to keep an eye on are Lockport and Batavia. The Porters showed that they have some pieces to build around their All-American thrower John Meyer come outdoor season, while Batavia showed team depth by producing three top ten 3A relays on Monday. One thing to note about some of the fast 4x2s that recently occured, many of them had an ace 400m sprinter on them, its hard to tell what lineups teams will use late in the season.
