Dajour Miles Is Ready To Take On The USA After HF Showcase Domination

Sometimes watching from the outside can motivate great athletes. Dajour Miles is that type of athlete who was pre-occupied with basketball for most of the track and field pre-season. But the West Aurora junior always kept one eye open in the track world and she knew what her Aurora Track Club mates were doing. Her #flytime label mate Marcellus Moore was tearing up the scene in Texas, Arkansas, and Kentucky. Other members did the same back home at local meets. Now that basketball is over Miles, it is time for her favorite past time known as track & field. The affectionate one known as Cinnamon has been patient but eager to get back up to speed. At the recent high powered Homewood-Flossmoor Girls Indoor Showcase, she won her specialty- the 400m hardly breaking a sweat in 56.66 and took the secondary Deuce in 25.35. Miles added the tertiary 60m as a warm-up taking third place and new personal best 7.65.

The next big assignment will be against her childhood mate Arria Minor. Perhaps some of you have heard of the Denver, CO phenom junior who has been tearing up the country with US #1 60 (7.30), US #2 200 (23.43), and newly found event, the 400 (US #2 53.47). Miles is currently US #5 54.14. "Me and my girl Arria... I was just texted her the other day... the 400 and 60." Uh oh! We cannot wait for New Balance Indoor Nationals. The friendly battle wage can't get here soon enough!
