Elizabeth Funderburk Signs With Florida State

Elizabeth Funderburk, the No. 1 cross country runner in Georgia, has signed with Florida State University during the National Letter of Intent early signing period.

The Colquitt County senior has produced an outstanding season thus far, logging big wins at the Wingfoot XC Classic in Atlanta, the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee (FL) and recently at the Georgia Class 7A championships, her first such title in cross country.

It was all part of seven straight wins this fall for Funderburk and four efforts under 18 minutes, including a best of 17:10.0 at the ARea 1 Championships on Oct. 21.

On the track, Funderburk holds PBs of 5:00.64 in the 1600m and 10:42.16 in the 3200m -- though those times are sure to be cut this spring as Funderburk maintains fitness throughout the offseason.
