Analysis: Over the past three years, Lake Zurich's Matt Pereira has competed in some of the nation's biggest cross country meets. In 2014, Pereira, ran his fastest 5K, 15:06.20, at the NXN Midwest Regional for fourth. Two weeks later, he placed 30th at NXN. In 2015, Pereira followed up with a seventh-place finish at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional. On the track that year, Pereira ran well in the 3200m, 9:12.66, and the full mile, 4:15.36. With tons of experience and solid PBs, Pereira should lead the Lake Zurich Bears to a successful 2016 season.
