This year's state championship promises to be one of the deepest and most competitive in IHSA history. For the first time in a very long time we could a distance runner in Jon Davis (Sr., Oakwood) close the regular high school as the top ranked king in statistical and figurative format. Pole vaulter/hurdler Curtis Gordon is at the top of the jumps statewide. The baby brother division will not be a push over this weekend on the blue oval that is O'Brien Stadium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.
