- 5-time defending Illinois 2A team state champion Cahokia boys came to the University of Arkansas on a mission to prove they are one of the top teams in the United States. The Cahokia Track Club as they are called in this pre-season segment indeed put on a show in Razorbacks land. The day started with superstar senior jumper Ja'mari Ward placing second in the long jump (US#4 24-6.5) and coming back to win the triple jump with a leap of 48-10.5 good for IL#1/US#4. The 4x800 relay squad set a school indoor record in winning fashion touring the track in 8:05.99. Other solid performances include Anthony McRoberts (Sr.) in the high jump with a jump off second place in the high jump at 6-6. He hit a personal best in the triple jump leaping 45-7. The day ended with a sensational run in the showstopping 4x400 that took the Cahokia Express under 3:20 at 3:18.99- good for #1 in the country. The Comanches produced the fastest time for an Illinois quartet, surpassing the ancient 3:19.5 by Chicago Lane Tech in 1974. The impressive splits were clocked FAT: 48.36, 49.98, 50.57, 50.07.
