Girls-
1) St. Joseph (Ogden)-Beat out Hoopston in a dual meet. Next they run Okaw Valley Tuesday and Cumberland Saturday.
2) Decatur (St. Teresa)-The Bulldogs soundly win the El-Paso Invite 25-40 over second place Eureka. Next they run Tuesday at the Normal U-High Invite.
3) Urbana (University)-Did not run. On Tuesday they run the twin city invite and then Prairie Central on Saturday.
4) Petersburg (Porta)-The Lady Jayes take fifth in the Jacksonville invite behind 2A teams and Rochester. However, the race was done using the flight system, which is more favorable to teams with denser packs. They take a bi-week in order to rest up for what many 1A teams are going for which is the Amboy Invite.
5) Kewanee (Wethersfield)-Finished second at the Elmwood invite by two points 70-68 behind Eureka. They will run conference on Thursday then Amboy on Monday.
6) Rock Island (Alleman)-Finishes 20th at the big Peoria Central invitational, spanning 19:18-20:26 with their 1-5. Next the Pioneers will attend the Sterling Invite.
7) Rochester-Took third in the Jacksonville invite over Porta; a very clear testament to the kind of depth that the Rockets are developing at this point in the season. Rochester will not race this week.
8) Freeburg-Ran their JV plus Kayla Whitworth at the Triad Invite. They run Tuesday at St. Clair County.
9) Tolono (Unity)-Next they run Okaw Valley on Tuesday and Cumberland on Saturday.
10) Winnebago-The Indians run a home meet on Tuesday and the Amboy Invite on Columbus Day.
11) Eureka-Finished second at the El-Paso without much challenge from the other teams, and then first at the Elmwood Invite, upsetting Annawan. Next we’ll see the Hornettes down at Prairie Central this Saturday.
12) Seneca-Came a little short of winning the LaSalle Invite over the host due to their fifth runner being rather far back, but their top four look superb. Next the Lady Irish run the Ross Greiter Invite Tuesday over at Plano and then the Amboy Invite.
13) Monmouth-Roseville-They finished 6th at the Elmwood Invite, but were without their second/third fastest runner Dyesha Taylor. On Saturday the Titans will run the Liberty Invite.
14) Monticello-Maddie Tutich and Audrey Duncan go 1-2 at the Monticello race, which more or less sums up how much the Sages dominated this race. Impressive times for the team all-round considering the weather. The Okaw Valley Conference really put their depth to the test as they finished third in the race. Next they run at Amboy.
15) Shelbyville-They ran well at the El Paso invite but did not run enough runners to score as a team. Next they run at Prairie Central
16) Herrin-They finish sixth at the Chester invite. However, they did not run Kara Martin. Next they run at Harrisburg on Wednesday.
17) Carlinville-Finished seventh in the Jacksonville Invite, holding their own against some strong competition. Next week, the Caveliers run the EAWR Invite this Saturday.
18) Carterville-Carterville sweeps the Chester invite 51-90 over Murphysboro, with the pack all in the top 16 in the 13 team race. The Lady Lions race at Pickneyville Thursday and then the Centralia Invite on Saturday.
19) Illinois Valley Central-Did not run this week. Watch for the Gray Ghosts to dual Peoria High at home in Chillicothe.
20) Elmwood-The Lady Trojans took fourth at their own invite. They will be one of many teams at Amboy this week.
Boys-
1) Elmwood-Elmwood last Saturday explained at least part of the reason why they’ve been ranked first all-season long. Their top four are already under 17 minutes at their Elmwood course, which typically runs a bit slower than Detweiller. This strong ‘effort’ (that may not even be all-out) allows them to easily beat Monmouth 48-97.
2) Rockford (Christian)-Did not run. They run a meet at Winnebago on Tuesday and show up at Amboy on Columbus Day.
3) Monticello-The Sages ran a very nice conditioning run at home, sweeping the race in the mud. Next they run the Okaw Valley conference Tuesday and Amboy on Monday, setting sites on not just local central Illinois talent but over against the well-renown 1A talent of the Northern Illinois area.
4) Johnsburg-The Skyhawks have been continuing with their thing over at these slower 2A/3A heavy Illinois races. 1-4 had a 43 second split at the Pat Hartland varsity race for a fourth place finish and Tim Bertulis still running. They will basically be taking a bi-week, but will run at Amboy on Columbus Day.
5) Tolono (Unity)-Next they run Okaw Valley on Tuesday and Cumberland on Saturday.
6) Shelbyville-The Rams comfortably win the El-Paso invite 32-75 over the meet host El-Paso. Marcus Skinner also wins the individual race overall. Next they race at Prairie Central.
7) Winnebago-The Indians run a home meet on Tuesday and the Amboy Invite on Columbus Day.
8) Sterling (Newman Catholic)-Going 2-7 in individual placing, Newman sweeps their Conference easily with 20 points. Newman will be busy with racing this week running the Prophestown Invite Tuesday, the St. Bede Invite Saturday, and finally Amboy on Columbus day where they have a real opportunity to compare their depth to that of other 1A powers.

11) Pleasant Plains-Had a great showing at Jacksonville, even without front runner Tyler Johson racing, finishing seventh as a team. The Cardinals go to Prarie Central on Saturday.
12) Rochester-Finished an outstanding 3rd place even with a mishap involving Micheal Gleason, who did not appear in the results at all (resulting in Rochester having to get 18 points added to their score). The Rockets will not race this week.
13) Paxton Buckley-Loda-Placed second at a race in Monticello to the hosts, as well as won the Twin Valley Conference 27-41 over Beecher. Shout out to Nick Porter for attaining the Clifton Central course record in 16:39. Next they run at Normal U-High Teusday.
14) Westmont-Their top 3 did it again at the Lisle Mane Invite, although their 4, 5 had a bit more trouble this week keeping up in the long and slower 5k course.
15) Tremont-The pack showed up nicely at Peoria Central, finishing 31st. Pfenderer is in nice form with 15:52 and the 2-5 pack went 16:47-17:02. They will take a bi-week in order to gear up for the big Columbus Day Amboy Invite.
16) Urbana (University)-Did not run. On Tuesday they run the twin city invite and then Prairie Central on Saturday.
17) Rock Falls-Placed sixth at the Freeport invite with not Brayden Hemblen but Seth Williams this time taking in
18) El-Paso Gridley-As the hosts of their own invitational, the Titans take second with their top four finishing in top 20 spots. They also took third at the Elmwood Invite the Saturday after two points behind Monmouth. They run a tri-meet against Tri-Valley and Prairie Central on Thursday and then Amboy the Monday after.
19) Carlinville-Finished 12th place in the Jacksonville invite, which numerically seems high. But check the results and you’ll see that their depth is developing. Next they run at EAWR this Saturday.
20) Nashville-The hornets win the Chester invite 51-92 over Sparta, with their top five all finishing in the top 15 in the 13 team meet. Next they at the Pickneyville Invite on Thursday.
