1. Katelynne Hart (So., Glen Ellyn Glenbard West)- I have been very fortunate to know KK on a personal level over the past few years. She has an inner strength and competitive spirit like I have never seen before. She is going to be motivated by several things at state. Let's first omit chasing records. Hart lost the US#1 3200m time to Katelyn Tuohy this past weekend. The fellow sophomore from New York actually ran the fastest ever 3200m in 9:47.88. That is going to sit on her mind for some time. The second is Enyaeva Michelin actually challenging her in the 1600m. Hart is no longer shoe-in favorite to run away and hide. Not after the Evanston senior dropped some fire on the track at her sectional meet. Hart will be at her best this weekend and will accept the challenge. I predict that we are going to see two girls simultaneously under 4:50. This has never happened in an IHSA state championship.
