Many times when we have discussed rankings, we often look purely at the numbers and not the substance. For example, what type of conditions did the athlete compete in? Did he or she go 100% or did they train through a particular competition in order to get ready for the bigger goal? The variables have to be broken down and assessed.
In ASSESSING THE VALUE of rankings I weigh multiple factors, the most important factor is whether or not an athlete is likely to an impact on real time or the current season. Rankings position can and will change every posting regardless of popularity. Once again it will be about what happens in real time that is relevant to the current season.
