Could an Illinois girl be the first to win a national title as a sophomore? The girls history of distance running is of course alot shorter than the boys. But there has been some great success on the state scene that has led to national promenence. Names like Rebecca Mitchell (Geneva), Erika Odlaug (Deerfield), Maria Cicero (York), and others but none has ever won a title. It could be Katelynne Hart (Glenbard West) coming home victorious in either the Footlocker Nationals or Nike Cross Nationals.
