The eighth annual AU Spartan Cross Country Classic was run on Friday, September 9, 2011 with 11 teams participating in the women's race. The AU women finished fifth in the 6k run with a team score of 147.

AU junior Briana deckard was the top Spartan finisher in 12th place with a time of 24:30.9 and sophomore Anna Perkowski finished 16th with a time of 24:42.2.

Joining the Spartan women with strong finishes were freshman Karson Greiter (47th - 26:52.4), freshman Abby Hart (58th - 27:11.3) and sophomore Kaylee Howard (63rd - 27:28.1).

The Spartan women can be seen in action again on Saturday, September 17, 2011 when they travel to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcon Invitational. Meet time is set for 11:00 a.m. in Mequon, Wis.
