Final Results
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team finished third and the men's team placed fifth in the 2011 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin outdoor track championships.
The women finished with 120 points, behind North Central (223) and Carthage (126.50).
The Titan men amassed 56 points as North Central won its 31st conference championship with 284 points.
Junior
Shavantay Thomas finished first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.09 seconds and was second in the 100 with a time of 12.31 seconds.
Sophomore
Lauren Rock got third in the 400 with her run of 56.78 seconds and freshman
Shelby Jackson was third in the discus throw at 146 feet-10 inches.
Sophomore
Tara Clemens was fourth in the 1500 (4:47.54) and was fifthin the 800 (2:16.65)
Senior
Lorin Biosca was fifth in the 1500 meter run (4:48.34) and eighth in the 5000 meter run (19:04.71).
Junior
Gaby Johnson was fourth with a high jump of 5 feet-1 ¼ inches, sophomore
Teresa Banks was sixth in the triple jump (34 feet-2 inches) and senior
Kyla Motz was sixth in the shot put (38 feet-11 ½ inches).
The women's 4x400 relay team was first (3:53.20) and the 4x100 relay team was second (47.81 seconds)
For the men, junior
Tyler Saunders was second in the 800 with a time of 1:56.17 and junior
Max Lustick was third in the 1500 meter run (3:55.44).
Freshman
Joey Pacione was fifth in the triple jump (45 feet-3 ½ inches) and junior
Steven Kirk was sixth in the discus throw (153 feet-1 inches).
The men's 4x400 relay team was third (3:17.95) and the 4x100 relay team was fifth (42.91 seconds)
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team is in third place (of 7) and the men's team is in fifth (of 8) at the 2011 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin outdoor track and field championships in Rock Island on May 6.
The IWU women's team has 34 points through six scored events and trail North Central at 81.50 and Wheaton with 39.
The Titan men have 13 points as North Central is the team leader with 89 points.
Both IWU teams qualified a number of entrants for tomorrow's finals.
In Friday's finals,
Erin Moran,
Angela Oltman and
Lauren Alpert all earned second place finishes. Moran was second in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet-2 ¼ inches and Oltman was second in the javelin throw with a distance of 115 feet-6 inches. Alpert got second in the long jump, going 17 feet-11 inches.
Senior
Kyla Motz was third in the hammer throw (145 feet-10 inches),
Cassie Anderson was sixth in the 10,000 meter run (40:08.51) and junior
Amanda Kessel was eighth in the javelin (105 feet-1 inches).
Senior
Alex Lambert was fourth in the men's pole vault, clearing 15 feet-1 ¾ inches, and junior
Steven Kirk was fifth with a 166 foot-2 inches javelin throw.
T.J. Luby got a seventh place in the men's 10,000 meter run with a time of 32:17.35.
