Illinois Wesleyan junior Lauren Alpert and senior Kyla Motz were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin women's outdoor "Track and Field Athletes of the Week", respectively, on Tuesday, April 26.

Alpert (Park Ridge, Ill., Maine South HS) set personal bests in both the 200 and 400-meter dashes at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville's twilight meet on April 23. She finished with a time of 24.99 in the 200 (ranked eighth nationally) and 56.31 in the 400 (ranked third nationally). Both times are NCAA provisional qualifiers and currently the best in the CCIW.

A psychology major at Illinois Wesleyan, she is the daughter of Patti Alpert and Martin Alpert.

Motz (Colorado Springs, Colo., Pine Creek HS) won the CCIW honor for the second time this season as she threw an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 47.96 meters (157 feet-4 inches) in the hammer throw at the SIU-E Twilight Meet. Her throw was 2.5 meters better than her previous best and trails only Carthage's Mindy Harrington on the CCIW honor roll.

A political science major at Illinois Wesleyan, Kyla is the daughter of Eulee Motz.

Wheaton sophomore Parker Thompson and North Park junior Lars Tenglin were named the CCIW men's outdoor track and field honorees.
Thompson placed first in both the 1,500-meter run (4:00.67) and the 800-meter run (1:56.26) at Concordia-Chicago's Cougar Invitational on April 21. Tenglin set a new meet and school record in the javelin, throwing for a distance of 65.73 meters (215-8) at the Cougar Invitational. This mark currently ranks second nationally on the NCAA Division III performance list.
