EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's track team had four first place finishes at the Southern Illinois Edwardsville Twilight Invitational despite volatile weather at Korte Stadium.
The day opened with a rain delay and ended with a lightning delay that extended some of the men's events.
Sophomore
Tara Clemens got first in the 1500 meter run with her time of 4:45.74 and senior
Lorin Biosca was first in the 3000 with a clocking of 10:45.76.
Erin Moran tied for first in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet-2 3/4 inches.
Junior
Lauren Alpert got first in the 200 meter dash and was second in the 400 meter run with a time of 56.32 seconds.
Shavantay Thomas got second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:54 seconds and was also second to Alpert in the 200 with a time of 25.20 seconds.
Cassie Anderson was second in the 3000 (10:55.17) while
Brooke Bernardoni and
Emilee Seevers tied for second in the high jump at 4 feet-11 3/4 inches. Junior
Amanda Kessel was second in the javelin with her distance of 101 feet-2 inches.
Freshman
Shelby Jackson was second in the discus throw with a toss of 117 feet-2 inches while senior
Kyla Motz got a second in the hammer throw (157 feet-4 inches) and third in the shot put (37 feet-4 inches).
Kayla Worley worked for a third place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.97 seconds.
