Washington Select Outdoor Track Meet Complete Results
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's track teams each finished fourth of five teams at the Washington U. Select outdoor track meet on Saturday, April 9.
The IWU women amassed 87 points and trailed Washington U. with 158 points, Wartburg (134), and Central College (116).
The IWU men had 70 points as Central won with 179, followed by Washington U. with 141, and Greenville with 98.
Individual winners for the women were junior
Brooke Bernardoni in the high jump at 5 feet-1 inches, freshman
Sarah Bussman in the triple jump with a distance of 32 feet-8 1/2 inches and freshman
Shelby Jackson won the discus with a throw of 126 feet-2 inches.
Third place women finishes were earned by junior
Erin Moran in the pole vault at 9 feet-2 1/4 inches, senior
Kyla Motz in the hammer throw (146 feet-5 inches), junior
Jessica Christy in the 100 (12.38 seconds) and
Mallory Kirby in the 800 (2:19.34).
The women's 4x100 relay team of Christy, junior

Caitlin Eskew and junior
Shavantay Thomas was third with a time of 48.2 seconds and the 4x400 relay team of sophomore
Tara Clemens,
Jenna Loynachan, Kirby and Christy was second with a time of 3:54.74.
For the men, junior
Steven Kirk won the hammer throw at 165 feet-5 inches and was second in the discus throw (148 feet-4 inches); junior Max Lustick was the winner of the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:56.84; and junior T.J. Luby was first (10:12.90) and freshman Tim Brinkmann was third (11:40.56) in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Senior Alex Lambert finished third in the pole vault at 14 feet-11 inches and the men's 4x400 relay team of seniors Aaron Ball and Mike Burgess, freshman Zach Morrison and sophomore Branden Niehaus took third with a time of 3:20.85.
