Teresa Banks finished sixth and junior
Amanda Kessel finished seventh in the two-day heptathlon competition at the Neil Moore Multi's, held March 31-April 1 at Eastern Illinois University's O'Brien Field in Charleston, Ill.
Banks had 2918 total points and Kessel amassed 2718 against the competition, which was made up of Division I athletes. The winner was Shelby Schaal of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with 4626 points, followed by Kelly Steffen of Indiana State with 4302.
Banks got seventh in the 100 hurdles (18.57 seconds), tied for fifth in the high jump (4 feet-6 ¼ inches), sixth in the shot put (27 feet-7 ½ inches), sixth in the 200 (28.83 seconds), fifth in the long jump (15 feet-6 inches), seventh in the javelin (56 feet-3 inches), and seventh in the 800 (3:09.61).
Kessel won the javelin throw with a toss of 107 feet-8 inches and was fifth in the 100 hurdles (18.16 seconds), seventh in the shot put (25 feet-6 ¾ inches), seventh in the 200 (30.01 seconds), seventh in the long jump (13 feet-3 1/2 inches) and sixth in the 800 (2:43.78)
