2011 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track Championship Results
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Led by a second place finish by the 4x400 relay team, the Illinois Wesleyan women's track team finished sixth in the NCAA Division III national indoor track and field championships on Saturday, March 12. Junior
Lauren Alpert (in the 400) and sophomore
Tara Clemens (in the 800) each earned fifth place finishes.
The Titans amassed 21 points to finish sixth in the 2011 meet, behind champion Wisconsin-Oshkosh (46.5 points), Wartburg (44), Massachusetts Inst. of Technology (30.5), Methodist (26) and Illinois College (24).
Alpert teamed with junior

Jessica Christy to turn in a school-record time of 3:48.48 in the 4x400 for the second place finish. Wartburg got first with a Capital Center track record of 3:47.16.
Alpert had a time of 56.86 seconds to finish fifth in the 400, which was won by Rachel Boerner of Calvin with a time of 55.75. Alpert was fourth in the long jump on Friday and failed to qualify for the finals of the triple jump on Saturday. Her distance was 37 feet-3 inches.
Clemens finished fifth in the 800 with a run of 2:12.81, bettering her Friday qualifying time of 2:13.65. Coe's Keelie Finnel won the 800 with her time of 2:11.13.
Also on Friday, senior Darien West got sixth place in the weight throw with his distance of 62 feet-8 3/4 inches. The winner was Pete Delzer from Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a winning toss of 64 feet-3 3/4 inches.
IWU junior
Steven Kirk did not qualify for the finals and had a distance of 59 feet-5 inches.
The Illinois Wesleyan distance medley relay team of sophomore

Lorin Biosca placed 10th with a time of 12:20.95. The winning team came from Middlebury College with a time of 11:47.96.
