NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's distance medley and 4x400 relay teams set school records and senior
Darien West finished first in the weight throw at the North Central qualifier on Friday, March 4.
The women's relay team, consisting of sophomore
Tara Clemens, junior
Lauren Alpert, senior
Lorin Biosca and freshman
Mallory Kirby, finished second with a school record and provisional qualifying time of 11:53.22. Washington U. finished first with a time of 11:48.98.
The 4x400 relay team had a time of 3:49.86 and was comprised of Clemens, junior
Shavantay Thomas, junior
Jessica Christy and sophomore
Lauren Rock. The old record was 3:51.48, set by Nicole Williams, Michelle Dionne, Gianina Taylor and Gena Rawlins in 2003.
Rock also earned a third place finish in the 400 with an NCAA provisional time of 57.19 seconds and Alpert also posted an NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump at 37 feet-5 inches.
Junior
Caitlin Eskew placed second in the 200 with a run of 26.58 seconds.
West won the weight throw with his distance of 63 feet-6 1/4 inches, an ABC Facility record.
The IWU 4x400 men's relay team of seniors
Noah Dunham and
Aaron Ball, junior
Adam Harrison and freshman
Zach Morrison posted a time of 3:21.00, an NCAA provisional qiualifying mark.
The distance medley relay team also finished second with a provisional qualifying time of 10:05.62. Handling the baton were juniors
Tyler Saunders and
Max Lustick, Ball and Dunham.
