Women's Division III All-Academic Cross Country Teams

Both the Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams earned 2010 Division III All-Academic Cross Country status as announced Thursday, Feb. 17, by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Illinois Wesleyan women's team had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.71 and ranked third among the 167 teams to earn 2010 Division III All-Academic Cross Country status.

Whitworth reported the highest cumulative GPA among All-Academic honorees with a 3.76. Hendrix followed with a 3.73, followed by Illinois Wesleyan.

Illinois Wesleyan men's team had a cumulative GPA of 3.40 as a total of 125 institutions compose the group. Earlham reported the highest cumulative GPA among All-Academic honorees with a 3.58. Stevens followed with a 3.56.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.//

Seven of the top ten finishing teams at the 2010 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships earned All-Academic status. Of the 32 teams that participated in the national final, 23 of those earned All-Academic status. In addition, six of eight NCAA regional championship teams earned All-Academic honors.

Of the 167 women's teams, including nine of the top 10 finishing teams at the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships earned All-Academic status. Of the 32 teams that participated in the national final, 28 of those earned All-Academic status. In addition, all eight NCAA regional championship teams earned All-Academic honors

The Middlebury women's team is the 2010 USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Women's Scholar Team of the Year. Middlebury, who have now won the award for the third time in five years, picked up their sixth NCAA title in the sport this fall.

Haverford College's men's cross country team is the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Men's Scholar Team of the Year for the 2010 cross country season.
Haverford won their first NCAA title in their school's athletics history with the men's cross country team's triumph in the fall.
