Titan Men and Women Finish Second in IWU's Keck Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's track teams each finished second to Division I Illinois State at the IWU Keck Invitational, held at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Feb. 5.

The IWU men's team compiled 61 to be the highest Division III team, placing behind the ISU team at 113 in the 18-team meet. The Titan women had 102 points in the 15-team outing, behind the Redbirds with 119.

Junior Tyler Saunders was the IWU men's lone individual winner, taking first in the mile with a time of 4:16.44. Senior Noah Dunham earned a second in the 800 meters with his time of 1:56.75 and junior T.J. Luby also finished second in the 3000 meter run with a clocking of 8:51.36.

Senior Alex Lambert placed third with his 15-foot effort in the pole vault.

Junior Lauren Alpert was a three-time winner for the Titan women - she got first in the 200 meters (25.69 seconds), long jump (18 feet-6 1/2 inches), and triple jump (37 feet-5 3/4 inches).

Sophomore Lauren Rock got first with her time of 58.97 seconds in the 400 meter dash and sophomore Tara Clemens notched a first place in the 800 with a time of 2:12.82.

The women's 4x400 relay team was also victorious with a winning effort of 3:54.56.
