BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's and men's indoor track teams were winners at the Titan Open in the Shirk Center on Saturday, Jan. 29.

The Titan women had 128.5 points to win the 18-team women's meet while the men amassed 89 points to get first in the 16-team men's schedule.

Junior Shavantay Thomas won both the 55 meter dash in a time of 7.28 seconds and the 200 with a time of 25.49 seconds while junior Lauren Alpert was also a double individual winner in the 400 (57.39 seconds) and the long jump (18 feet-5 ¼ inches).

Alpert teamed with junior Jessica Christy, sophomore Lauren Rock and sophomore Tara Clemens to win the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:53.93.

Rock won the 800 with a time of 2:21.47 and Clemens was the winner of the mile at 5:11.80.

Junior Tyler Saunders won the men's 800 in a run of 1:55.44 and senior Alex Lambert was the winner of the pole vault at a height of 15 feet-6 inches. Senior Darien West was the weight throw winner at a distance of 60 feet-5 inches.

The men's 4x400 relay team of junior Adam Harrison, senior Noah Dunham, senior Mike Burgess and senior Aaron Ball got first place with a time of 3:24.18.
