Titan Women Win, Men Third at Rose-Hulman Indoor Track

Rose-Hulman Double Dual Indoor Meet - Complete Results

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's track team finished first of three teams and the men's team was third at the Rose-Hulman double dual in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, January 15.

The IWU women's team accumulated 121 points to best Washington U. with 98 and the host school with 48.
The Rose-Hulman men had 104 points to beat Washington U. with 90 and Illinois Wesleyan with 78.

Lauren Alpert got first among all competitors (including those from two Division I schools) in the long jump with her distance of 18 feet- 1 ½ inches, an NCAA provisional qualifying distance. She also finished second among D-III athletes in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.99 seconds.

Other Titans who finished first against Division III teams were Jessica Christy in the 400 with her time of 1:01.60; sophomore Tara Clemens in the 800 (2:17.75, second place overall); Shavantay Thomas got first in both the 200 (25.72 seconds, fourth overall) and in the 60 meter dash (7.90); and Lorin Biosca had the top time among D-III runners in the 3000 (10:48.81).

The women's 4x400 relay team of Lauren Rock, Taylor Cordes, Shavantay Thomas, Tara Clemens was fifth overall and first in the D-III competition with a time of 4:04.84.

Also against Division III teams, Kayla Worley second in 60 hurdles (10.14 seconds) and Emilee Seevers had the third best high jump at 4 feet-11 ½ inches.

For the men, Darien West got first place among all competitors with an NCAA provisional mark of 18.58 meters in the weight throw.

Other Titans who placed first among the three Division III schools were Josh Smart in the shot put (14.34 meters) with West in second (13.45 meters); Alex Lambert in the pole vault (13 feet-9 ¼ inches); Noah Dunham in 800 (1:58.47)

Also against Division III teams, Adam Harrison was third in the 60 hurdles (8.90 seconds); Aaron Ball was second in the 400 (51.83); and Ryan Winter was second in triple jump (40 feet-5 inches).
