Men's and Women's Cross Country Squads Run at Midwest Regional

2010 NCAA Midwest Regional Women's Results

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2010 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 13. The Titan men finished 12th in the 39-team field and IWU's women were ninth out of 38 programs.

The event was hosted by Augustana College at Rock Island's Saukie Golf Course.

IWU senior Wally Farris was the Titans' low finisher in the 8K men's race with 275 entrants, coming in 46th with his time of 25:13.9. Junior Max Lustick was in 66th place with a time of 25:31.0 and junior #T.J. Luby# was 77th with his time of 25:38.8.

Sophomore Elise Anderson was the top performer for the Titan women in the 6K regional race with a time of 22:30.6 to finish 32nd in a field of 263 women. Senior Liz Ave Maria ran a time of 22:47.5 and finished in 44th place while senior Lorin Biosca also placed in the top 50, coming in 48th with her time of 22::50.2.

North Central won the men's event with 37 points, Wisconsin-Platteville finished second with 86 points, Wisconsin-Stevens Point scored 114 points in third place, Washington University (Mo.) was fourth with 122 points, Wisconsin-Oshkosh tallied 173 points in fifth place, Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished sixth with 187 points, Wisconsin-Whitewater scored 220 points in seventh place, Augustana was eighth with 227 points, Wisconsin-LaCrosse finished ninth with 230 points, University of Chicago registered 244 points in 10th place, Wheaton had 278 points to finish 11th, followed by the Titans in 12th with 264 points, Wisconsin-Stout (379 points), Wisconsin-River Falls (494 points) and Principia (546 points) in 15th place.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire scored 85 points to win the women's regional, Washington (Mo.) finished second with 93 points, Wisconsin-Stevens Point took third with 98 point, Wisconsin-Oshkosh scored 122 points in fourth place, University of Chicago was fifth with 133 points, North Central tallied 182 points in sixth place, Wisconsin-LaCrosse was seventh with 213 points, Wisconsin-Platteville scored 226 points in eighth place.
Finishing after Illinois Wesleyan in ninth with 266 points came St. Norbert with 301 points in 10th place, and Wisconsin-Whitewater in 11th with 372 points. Monmouth College scored 385 points in 12th place, Wheatonfinished 13th with 421 points, Carroll scored 447 points in 14th place and Wisconsin-Stout finished 15th with 483 points.
