CSU Alum Bareikis Wins First-Annual Wisconsin Dells Marathon

CHICAGO – Former Chicago State University (CSU) distance runner Arturs Bareikis (Oak Forest, IL/Robert Morris (Ill.) University) recently captured his first-ever marathon title as he finished first at the first-ever Wisconsin Dells Marathon on Oct. 24 in Wisconsin Dells.

 

The Oak Forest, Ill., native completed the 26.2 mile race with a time of 2:43.40 at a pace of 6:14 per mile.

 

Bareikis lettered in cross country and track & field at CSU during the 2009-10 season where he set a personal-best time of 35:34.5 at the 2009 NCAA Midwest Cross Country Regional Championship. The time marked the fifth best 10-kilometer time in school history.
