Complete Results, 2010 CCIW Women's Cross Country Championships

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's cross country team finished second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships and senior Liz Ave Maria got second with her time of 22:44.7 on Saturday, Oct. 30.

North Central won its sixth CCIW women's cross country title in school history, defending its 2009 title in the process.

Illinois Wesleyan had 63 points and finished second to the Cardinals, who won with a team score of 26 at the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.

Rounding out the team scores were Wheaton (76), Elmhurst (99), Augustana (114) and Carthage (152). Millikin and North Park did not field a full squad for this event.

North Central's Amanda Laesch took home the individual title and won CCIW "Female Athlete of the Meet" honors in the process. She won the 6K with a time of 21:47.2. Ave Maria was second, followed by North Central's Sarah Ahn (22:49.5) and Lauren Hooks (22:50.0) in third and fourth, respectively.

Illinois Wesleyan's Elise Anderson (22:55.5) finished fifth, Wheaton's Sara Greeley (23:04.0) and Jennifer Lewis (23:07.2) was sixth and seventh, respectively, North Central's Krista Cota (23:09.3) was eighth, Elmhurst's Lauren Williams (23:09.9) finished ninth and North Central's Amanda Marek (23:10.0) placed 10th.

Elmhurst's Hannah Williams (23:10.3) placed 11th while teammate Mariola Grzybowska (23:16.7) was 12th (23:16.7). North Central's Alicia Zimmerman (23:19.5) finished 13th, and Illinois Wesleyan's Lorin Biosca (23:21.3) was 14th. North Central's Kala Bingham (23:27.7) rounded out the all-conference performers with a 15th place finish.

North Central earned "Coaching Staff of the Year" honors while Carthage's Katie Kummerer was named the CCIW "Female Freshman of the Meet" after finishing as the top freshman finisher, placing 23rd with a time of 23:58.9.
