CHICAGO – Chicago State University sophomore Matthew Jordan (Suffield, OH/Field) was honored by the Great West Conference today as he earned the league's men's cross country Co-Runner of the Week accolades. The weekly honor is the first for Jordan and a first for the Cougars this season.
The Mogadore, Ohio native continued his outstanding season by setting a school record in the 8K race at the Bradley Cross Country Classic on Oct. 15. Jordan ran a career-low time of 25:55 to become the first CSU harrier in recent memory to produce a sub 26-minute performance in an individual race.
The Cougars travel to Edinburg, Texas next weekend to compete in the third-annual Great West Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Los Lagos Golf Course.
