Sept. 8, 2010 - North Central College women's cross country runner Amanda Laesch has been honored as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Runner of the Week for the second time in the 2010 season.

Laesch placed sixth at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships on Friday, finishing with a time of 18:01 on the 5,000-meter course. The Cardinals finished seventh in the 31-team field and placed second among non-NCAA Division I teams.

Laesch has now won two of the three CCIW Runner of the Week Awards this season. She also received the honor on Sept. 8 following a fourth-place finish at the University of Wisconsin Badger Classic.

The Cardinals, ranked seventh in the Midwest Region, will send a team to the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of MInnesota and will also send a squad to the Lake Forest College Forester Invitational.
