NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's team finished ninth (of 31 teams) and the men's team was 12th (of 29) at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships, held at Illinois State in Normal on Sept. 17.

The IWU women had 253 points. The low Division III team in the meet was Chicago, fourth with 130 points, and North Central was seventh with 215. Division I Northwestern was the women's team champion with 35 points.

The Titans' low female finishers were senior Liz Ave Maria, who was 30th with a time of 18:59 and senior Lorin Biosca placed 36th with her time of 19:05.

The IWU men had 359 points. The low Division III team in the 8K championship race was North Central, who had 51 points and finished second to Division I Illinois with 25 points. Other Division III teams to finish ahead of IWU were Augustana (fourth with 151 points) and Chicago (eighth with 214).

The Titans' low male finishers were junior #T.J. Luby#, who was 57th with a time of 26:35, junior Tyler Saunders placed 64th with his time of 26:42, and junior Jim Fahey, who was 67th with a run of 26:49.
