PEORIA, Ill. - The Bradley women's track and field team was named a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, announced recently by the USTFCCCA. The Braves were tied for third in the country among Division I track programs with a 3.52 cumulative grade point average.

The third-place ranking is the highest for the Braves since they led the nation in 2004-05.  Oklahoma led the nation in 2009-10 with a 3.62 grade point average and was followed by Quinnipiac at 3.58.  Bradley and Iona followed in third place at 3.52.

Bradley has ranked in the top five in the nation in GPA in six of the last nine years.  The Braves led the nation in both 2004-05 (3.584) and 2002-03 (3.46).  Bradley was fourth in the country in both 2006-07 (3.44) and 2003-04 (3.34) in addition to ranking fifth in 2001-02 (3.37).

The USTFCCCA honors individuals and teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the indoor and outdoor track seasons. A total of 151 Division I teams had cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better.

Bradley was one of seven Missouri Valley Conference women's track and field programs recognized, but just one of three Valley teams to own better than a 3.30 GPA.
