Complete Results, Wheaton Twilight Meet, April 17
WHEATON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's track team finished second (of seven) and the men's team was sixth (of eight) at the Wheaton Twilight Invitational, which finished late on Saturday, April 17.
The IWU women scored 184 points, behind only the University of Chicago with 201.2. North Central was third (163.2), followed by Wheaton (84), Carthage (58.2), Washington U. (53.2) and Central (34.2).
The Titan men scored 71 points. North Central was the male winner with 243, followed by Central (157), University of Chicago (119), Wheaton (83) and Washington U. (81).
Senior
Amanda LaRocca got first place in both the 100 meter dash at 12.25 seconds and the 100 meter hurdles (14.81). She also placed third in the 200 meter dash at 25.02 seconds.
Senior
Ali McCoy was also a double winner for the Titans, taking first in the 200 (24.86 seconds) and the 400 (56.98).
Junior
Lorin Biosca was the winner of the 1500 meter run with her time of 4:53.93 and both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams finished first. The 4x100 team (47.71 seconds) consisted of McCoy and LaRocca,
Jessica Christy and
Shavantay Thomas while the 4x400 team (4:01.07) was Thomas and Christy,
Lauren Alpert and
Brooke Bernardoni.
Christy also got fourth in the 400 (58.86) and sixth in the 200 (25.72) while Alpert was third in the 400 (57.68).
Senior
Mackenzie Clemens and freshman
Tara Clemens were second and third in the 800 with times of 2:15.20 and 2:15.91 and senior
Kerry Devitt was second in the 5000 meter run with her time of 17:36.45. Senior
Chinny Ekwulugo had a distance of 10.58 meters to place second in the triple jump.
Senior
Emily Hagen got second in the high jump, third in the javelin and 10th in the hammer throw while junior
Kyla Motz was fifth in the shot put and seventh in the javelin.
The lone IWU men's winner was
Darien West, who took first in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.48 meters. West also got sixth in the discus (40.61 meters) and senior
Kindred Cook was third in the hammer throw with 46.24 meters.
Sophomore
Tyler Saunders got second in the 1500 meter run (3:59.72) and sixth in the 800 meter run (1:57.46) while sophomore
Max Lustick was seventh in the 1500 (4:02.62) and ninth in the 800 (1:58.26).
Keith Lehuta was second in the 3000 meter steeplechase, coming in with a time of 9:57.83 and
Alex Lambert cleared 4.55 meters to earn a fourth place in the pole vault.
Junior
Aaron Ball had a time of 11.46 seconds, good for fifth in the 100 while sophomore
Adam Harrison was sixth in the 400 (57.62)and seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (16.42).
Ball and Harrison were joined by
Mike Burgess and
Ross Munsterman on the fifth place 4x100 relay team (43.38 seconds) and Ball and Burgess teamed with
Branden Niehaus and
Noah Dunham for a time of 3:27.07 win finishing fifth in the 4x400 relay.
