Thomas, LaRocca Tie School Mark in 100 NCAA Qualifying

BEREA, Ohio - Senior Amanda LaRocca and sophomore Shavantay Thomas tied for fourth best time in the 100 meter qualfying at the NCAA Division III outdoor track championships in Berea, Ohio, tying the school record at 11.95 seconds in the process.

LaRocca tied for 3rd lowest time in the 100 hurdles with her time of 14.11 seconds and tied for fourth in the 100 meter dash, tying a school record with her time of 11.95 seconds.
Messiah's senior Kristen Bates ran the hurdles in a time of 13.83 seconds to qualify in the top spot for the finals, which will be run at 1:45 p.m.

Running in a separate heat, Thomas tied LaRocca in the 100 with the fourth best qualifying time of 11.95 seconds, also tying the school record.
Junior Mirian Khan of the College of New Jersey had the top 100 time at 11.85 seconds. The 100 meter finals will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. 

With a time of 55.93 seconds, senior Ali McCoy qualified seventh in the 400. Senior Robin Yerkes of Roanoke College had the NCAA low time of 55.14 seconds. The final of the event will be at 2:10 p.m. Saturday. 

Senior Mackenzie Clemens failed to qualify for the finals in the 800 with her time of 2:11.70
