Chloe Lindeman Signs With University of Wisconsin

It should not have been a surprise that the supremely talented shot putter Chloe Lindeman picked a Power 5 school as her choice for the next four years. The senior from Fulton officially signed to become a University of Wisconsin Badger right after the national signing date which was November 14. Lindeman will join a great throwing program which featured several former Illinois prep greats such as Kelsey Card (Carlinville HS) and Banke Oginni (Hoffman Estates HS). Card is the IHSA all-time record holder in the DT, earned multiple All-American honors as a Badger and is an Olympian from the 2016 Games in Rio.

Lindeman is the defending 1A shot put champion with a throw of 47-3.75. It happened to be the top mark in the state across all classifications. Lindeman has the fourth best returning outdoor mark in the country.

Lindeman has a bigger resume of accolades that extend beyond the border of Illinois. She is the US #1 indoor returner in the SP with a massive heave of 48.2.5 which placed her third at the 2018 New Balance Nationals Indoor Championship. Aside from earning All-American honors in her favorite event, Lindeman was a standout softball player. Now that she has given up play on the diamond, look for the extra time being spent improving in the discus throw. Her personal best 136-2 ranks fourth best returner in the state but well outside of national elite standards. That should change this season.
