Cross Country Intangibles: The Tempo Run


No offense but most of us get it wrong when we talk tempo runs. One thing it is not is a steady state run. Yes, a tempo run is an aerobic run, but there is more to it than just running a mindless pace. A sustained up to 30 minutes is typically preferred with the pace at 30 seconds slower per mile than one's 5K race. Tempo runs are quality workouts that runners can run throughout the season.
