Top Juniors to Watch in Class 3

Girls

Anna Burson (Springfield Catholic)

Anna placed 22nd at State a year ago to earn herself at State Medal. Her PR of 19:29 is the 9th fastest returning time in Class 3, and she'll look to build upon that this year. Anna did not run Track this season, but if she can put together another XC season like last year she should be in medal contention again.

Calli Beshore (Nevada)

After placing 21st at State her freshman year, Calli took 2nd at Districts this past season but didn't compete at Sectionals (injury?). She was healthy for Track though as she ran 5:20 in the 1600m which was good enough for an 8th place finish in Class 4. She also ran an 11:35 3200m which was the 6th fastest time in Class 4 last season. She should be in the hunt near the front of the field this Fall.

Malayna Briner (Savannah)

Malayna will look to add another State Medal to her name this Fall. Last year she placed 12th at State, and had a really strong finish to the Season overall. Her PR of 19:42 is the the 5th fastest returning time among sophomores as well. Look for her to put together another good season this year.

Palmer Mihalevich (MICDS)

An All-Stater a year ago, Palmer will look to repeat that success this year. She placed 23rd at State last year with a PR of 20:19. She followed up her successful XC campaign with another State Medal in Track. She placed 6th in the Class 4 800m with a time of 2:20. Look for her to continue to improve and try and to earn another medal this Fall.
