Season Outlook: This stacked event going to be good. Check that. Very good when you consider 7 of 9 state finalists returning. AJ Christensen (2nd), Connor Artman (3rd), and Mason Barr (4th) are going to be going at it. All three of them can win it and it's going to be very exciting. Ridgeview coach Mike Benton in regard to star about Mason Barr: "Mason is running track year-round and he is really focused on improving his starts in the hurdles." Returning all-staters with Christensen, Artman, and Barr are, Dontez Pittman (5th), Kyle Carver (6th), Shamar Adams (8th), and Judd Anderson (9th).

Season Outlook: Mason Barr is the returning state champion with a chance to build a legacy with two seasons remaining. Barr's time ranks IL#5 overall coming in. The goal will be to take a shot at the class meet record 37.33 by Cody Wisslead of West Prairie back in 2006. On paper look out for challengers AJ Christensen (2nd), Connor Artman (4th), and Riley Baker (5th). Riley Baker's coach Jason Retz said: "Riley came out for cross this year and redefined what hard work is in his mind. He's one of the hardest workers we have, so it will be exciting to watch him this spring. He is out to set our school record in the 300IH and 400m. I look for him to go after a top spot in the 300IH on the Saturday of the state finals." Returning all-staters are Judd Anderson (8th) and Dontez Pittman (9th).
