Katelynne Hart (So., Glenbard West HS; Glenbard IL)- Illinois top girl successfully defended her regional crown in a fashion that she has been accustomed to lately. Hart has been patient when challenged by competition late in the race, which has taught her not to panic when she controls the cards. In between the NXN championship Hart went and competed at Footlocker Midwest and earned another finalist berth. She looked very sharp in that contest and it was a signal to her competition that she will be ready in Portland. In case Hart was not ready for this weekend, she can go back and follow this profound statement after finishing in her lowest placement in high school- 18th at NXN: "I'm not satisfied w/ this race, but [it's] just motivation to come back even better next year."
