Opening thoughts:
Last year at this time we were discussing the correlation between cross country and the fall academic calendar. It was interesting to note how the athletes of the sport progress through season right along with the weather. 'Cross Country is a season that falls in line with school in that it could last into December if you run nationals. But most teams and individuals will finish by the end of October or beginning of November.' Being that it is still officially summer on the calendar, it is going to be very hot one last time before heading into the autumn equinox. The temperatures are expected to soar into the upper 80s midway through the meet. Take caution and be safe out there!
One interesting fact about the Richard Spring Invite is that it's the biggest meet in terms of one starting line. Let's say it again. All classes, one starting line!
