Breaking News: Super Star Jumper Jumps Ship To Homewood-Flossmoor

Jaimie Robinson says adios to De La Salle in Chicago and hello to Homewood-Flossmoor HS

-Junior Jaimie Robinson is coming off of one of the best season's by a triple jumper in Illinois girls history. As a sophomore Robinson won the 2A state TJ tltle. But it was the summer of 2015 that Robinson broke loose. She leaped a personal best 41-1 at the Paul Wallace Invite. Robinson won three national titles this summer competing under the University of Chicago Track Club banner. She took the New Balance Emerging Elite TJ crown followed by the Hersey National title for 15-16 year old group. It was just a few weeks ago that Robinson snatched the gold medal at the USATF JO National championship in Jacksonville, Florida.

The move from De La Salle (on the south side of Chicago) to Homewood-Flossmoor is a win-win move for Jaimie and her family. HF is one of the top high schools in the state with some of the best overall athletic facilities in the country for a high school. Although there is a coaching change at HF, Robinson will be in good hands at the elite school. In addition, despite some quality graduation from the Vikings in the names of Antoinette Broughton and Jayla Stewart, the team is stocked with young talent. "My mom was [growing tired of the city life] and it moves us closer to family," said Robinson on the new move.

The 2016 girls track scene will be one to watch with Robinson going head to head with powerhouse Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) and then with friendly rival Lajarvia Brown of Alton. Brown is the premier jumper in the state and one of the best in the world for her age group. Brown is the two-time defending state champion in Class 3A. Homewood-Flossmoor is a 3A school. The match ups are going to be ridiculous when the track season swings around next year!
