-The final day of the exhaustive week long USATF Junior Olympics National Championships held in Jacksonville, Florida ended well for several Illinois competitors.

  • Miya Dorsey (Belleville East/Track My Speed TC) took home the gold medal in the 17-18 Girls 400 Hurdles in a state leading time of 59.65. Dorsey's time is the 8th fastest in the United States this season. Her accomplishment was incredibly triumphant because she was the last qualifier in from the semi-finals! Dorsey will now head off to Southeast Missouri University to continue her athletic and academic career.
  • William Session (Belleville East/Track My Speed TC) finished 5th in the Boys 17-18 110HH clocking 14.11 (-1.5). Session will be a favorite to repeat his state title next year in the 3A classification. Also, watch for Session to be among the elite short hurdlers in the country in 2016.
