  • 3A #4 Palatine gets a measure of revenge despite defending their Palatine Invite title with a strong overall team performance led by junior Kelly O'Brien big win in 17:22. The team scoring topped off: 1,14,16,18,23. The Lady Pirates roll past #1 2A Yorkville 72-90. Yorkville junior Skyler Bollinger continues her solid season with a fourth place effort in 17:32.

 

  • 3A #5 New Trier finishes third with 101 points; #1 Centerville, Ohio grabs 4th (120 pts); #2 Assumption, KY (5th- 142 pts) round out the top five teams.

 

  • Daly Galloway (So, S. Wilmington) surprises the field in 3rd (17:26) ahead of Bollinger; freshman Kelli Walsh of Centerville closes out the top five in 17:41.

  • The boys of St. Louis University High in Missouri come to the land of Lincoln and steal a victory over a deep field including 3A #4 Loyola Academy 172-177. 3A #6 New Trier continues to nurse themselves back to health takes third with 182 points and just ahead of the top 2A school Yorkville who tallied 188. St. Xavier of Louisville, KY is the Bluegrass state's #2 team also scored 188. The Tigers were awarded on the 5th place on the #5 man rule.

 

  • McHenry senior Jesse Reiser said minutes after his race "this was the toughest race of the year for me- no doubt." The US#8 Reiser was in a dog fight with twin killing seniors Jake and Luke Hoffert who ran step for step with him until the final half-mile. Reiser got enough separation to win in 14:38. Jake took second in 14:40 and his partner in crime Luke copped third- 14:43. Hersey senior David Rodriguez proved that last weekend's Peoria Notre Dame run was not a fluke after he finished strong in 4th (14:49). Palatine senior Graham Brown rebounds from a disappointing 13th place finish at PND to take 5th ahead of the Class A prince Jon Davis (Jr., Oakwood) 14:54-14:59.
