Milesplit Illinois Girls Power Rankings

We bring you the girl’s power rankings.  With April quickly coming to a close, we are seeing more and more teams and individuals with great performances. Sadly we received some criticism from our past rankings.  The main intention of these power rankings are for fun.  We are not trying to predict the state meet – just having fun with our database.

I’m sure most of you have noticed the power rankings are scored vary differently than the state meet.  It is scored 20 deep – not 8.  This really gives the advantage to the best all-around team, not the team with a couple of studs who can score a lot of points in a couple of events.  If you have 2-3 top caliber runners you can sweep two or three events and get third or fourth place as a team (with only two runners)  The power rankings make it a bit tougher to do that.   For those who want to see how the state meet would play out you can do that ANYTIME using our database.  Go to the stats tab and click virtual meet and you can specify which conference/district/sectional/class you want.  I will say the 3A Girls virtual meet predicts a MUCH CLOSER battle than the power rankings.

Calculated as of April 23, 2013

These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet.We scored 20 deep for individuals and 20 deep for relays. For example, for individuals 1st place received 20 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 20th place.
